The distance calculator gives you an easy way to calculate the distance between any two airports and then determine corresponding cruise time and fuel burn. It can be accessed by using the "Distance calculator..." menu pick under the "Window" program menu or by pressing "Ctrl+D".
To calculate distance
- Under From Airport, type an airport identifier. If found, the airport name, city and state appears underneath.
- Under To Airport, type an airport identifier. If found, the airport name, city and state appears underneath.
- The distance between the two airports (in both statute and nautical miles) appears at the top right of the distance calculator window.
To calculate enroute time
- Type in a cruise speed in nautical miles per hour underneath Cruise Speed.
- The estimated enroute time is automatically displayed below.
To calculate fuel usage
- Type in a fuel usage in either gallons or pounds underneath Fuel Burn / Hour.
- The estimated fuel usage is automaticallly displayed below in the same units you entered.
